How to Use BAO-MED Baobab Oil on Hair Without Overloading It

For a finishing application, BAO-MED recommends one or two drops of Pure Skin, Scalp & Hair Oil to help control static and add shine. Spread the oil between your hands and apply sparingly to the lengths that need it. More oil does not automatically mean a better result.

This is a guide to using the oil on hair. It is not a dandruff-treatment guide, and a dry-feeling length should not be treated as proof that your scalp needs oil.

What is in BAO-MED Pure Oil?

The manufacturer lists 99.8% baobab oil, with fragrance, in BAO-MED Pure Skin, Scalp & Hair Oil 30ml. Baobab oil appears on an ingredient list as Adansonia Digitata oil. Check the packaging for the current formula if you have a known sensitivity.

The word “pure” in the product name should not be interpreted as fragrance-free. Equally, a plant-derived ingredient does not guarantee that every person will tolerate the finished formula.

How to apply it to dry lengths

  1. Start with one or two drops, following the manufacturer’s directions.
  2. Spread the oil over your palms and fingertips.
  3. Touch it onto the dry-feeling ends first.
  4. Use the remaining amount lightly through the mid-lengths where needed.
  5. Check movement and feel before adding anything else.

Keep the first application conservative if your hair is fine, short or easily weighed down. It is easier to add a small amount than to remove excess oil from a finished style.

Why do the roots look greasy after applying oil?

It may be a question of placement or quantity rather than the product being wrong for every part of your hair. Coating the root area can reduce the lifted look you were trying to create, even when the ends benefit from a little finishing care. Try focusing on the ends and using less at the next application.

Can you add it to conditioner?

BAO-MED also describes mixing a small amount with hair conditioner. Follow the current product directions and keep the experiment simple. Do not mix several scalp treatments together or assume that combining products improves their performance.

If you prefer a ready-made conditioning step, compare the BAO-MED range rather than feeling that you need to customise every wash.

What about using oil on the scalp?

The product is also described for scalp use, but that is a different purpose from smoothing hair ends. Visible flakes, oiliness and discomfort can have different causes. Do not use an oil as a universal answer to all three. Our existing dandruff versus dry scalp guide explains why those concerns should not be treated as interchangeable.

What oil cannot promise

A shinier finish does not mean split ends have permanently rejoined. Oil is also not automatically a heat protectant; check for an explicit heat-protection claim before heated styling.

Quick questions

Which size should I choose?

The 30ml bottle is a compact option. The 120ml version may suit more frequent use. Compare the current product pages rather than assuming you need the larger size.

For lengths that mainly need softness, explore Dry & Dehydrated Hair or ask the Romé Hair team for help keeping the routine simple.
